Really a special place. Views are outstanding, spectacular night sky, and nice FS campground with 4 sites across the road. Stayed two nights.
Planning return over night visit, staff and facility are top notch
6 The Observatory staff are great group and the tour they provide is a "must see" for Central Oregon. But, for me, its the "Friends of Pine Mtn" that make the experience unforgetable. They bring their own equipment up during Public view nights for anyone to view through, and will talk telescopes/astronomy with you. Thank you FofPM for re-aquainting me with astronomy again(esp Greg)
Went here last year and spent an evening looking at Saturn's rings and constellations. The people that volunteer here are really patient, answering all questions and explain things clearly so everyone can understand. Thanks for a great evening on my birthday!
What an amazing place to look at the nights sky! Jupiter in all its glory! Saturn and so many stars
