Beautiful campgrounds! Big Lava Lake and Little Lava Lake are a 3 minute walk from each other. Big Lava Lake Lodge has kayaks, caneos, and motor boats for rent. Awesome places to swim and trout fishing. Sparks Lake, Elk Lake, and Sunriver also on Mountain Lakes highway. Lava Cave, High Desert Museum, and Bend, OR are 42 minutes away.
Cramped and exposed sites, barely any trees or foliage, and covered with a loose dry silt everywhere that ends up covering every square inch of you and your stuff with dirt. My wife and I have camped all over the Pacific Northwest, and this was by far the worst place we've ever been to. The lake had one dock that extended about 30 feet, and wasn't even that scenic. Really clean bathrooms though.
